Emstream becomes reseller for the world’s most advanced music management system

July 2011

Emstream has upgraded its offering with a new software platform that takes music management to another level of sophistication …without adding cost.

This is only the third music platform we’ve offered in our10 year history; it takes us years of searching and testing before we release a new system and we won’t do so till we sure it’s the best.

Developed in Canada and constantly refined over the past 10 years, MUSICBox is used in over 6,000 North American venues. With so many users, it has to be easy to operate, super-reliable and with more functionality than anyone could need. We’ll continue to hand-craft the music programming for our clients, but MUSICBox also gives them direct online access to an international music library of over a million tracks where they can supplement their music library anytime by downloading music, a little like iTunes”.

Some of the other key features include: creating unlimited playlists and one-click scheduling them in advance; scheduling voice messages to play automatically; running up to 24 different sound zones simultaneously; ability to search tracks by mood and energy level; volume scheduling automatically changes the volume; even use the music system to also run ads on your TV displays; auto back-up and restoration of all data. We can also set the system up to be managed from an iPad, or even a smart phone. Plus a chain of venues can be centrally managed from one computer via the web.

It’s a truly remarkable piece of technology, but perhaps the key reason we’ve adopted it is that thanks to really efficient back-end global licensing and reporting smarts, it’s possibly the cheapest comparable system out there. We’re convinced it’s got a big future among Australian venues.

Nestle ice cream retail chain uses Emstream and Fujitsu to add appetite appeal

January 2011

Emstream is delighted to be working with the yummiest of products, Moevenpick Swiss ice cream (http://www.moevenpick-icecream.com/). The brand is well established in Europe and Nestle had been looking at introducing the concept into Australia from some time…Australia being an obvious market for ice cream thanks to the climate.

Moevenpick wanted to add drama, appetite appeal and visual impact for its stores and selected Emstream and Fujitsu to develop a digital signage solution for its growing store network. We have provided content management software, media players, content management services as well as assistance with content formatting. Now all we have to do is work our way through the many delicious flavours!

Computerworld Names Fujitsu as the leading Green-IT Organisation

01 November 2010

Fujitsu won the accolade against ninety-five organisations highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainability across the business on a global scale. Their Green Policy 2020 provides a vision for a prosperous low-carbon future and our mission is to help create it through IT innovations that reduce society’s environmental footprint and the impact of IT itself.

Fujitsu has a proud heritage of sustainability dating back to 1938, when they created a parkland environment for their first factory. By 1989 they had established theirfirst environmental committee and in 2002 they installed the world’s first plantbased biodegradable plastic parts in notebook computers. Just one year later they achieved zero waste emissions in all 13 plants in Japan and in 2006 completed global integration based on the ISO14001 environmental management system.

“Many of the organisations recognised in our third annual Top Green-IT issue have already plucked ‘low-hanging fruit,’ such as reducing travel with teleconferencing or buying Energy Star-rated IT equipment,” said Scot Finnie, editor in chief, Computerworld. “These top organisations are truly stretching now, exploring innovative new ways to apply technology to reduce energy consumption. They know that achieving green-IT isn’t a one-time effort; they’re in it for the long haul.”

Computerworld is the leading source of technology news and information for IT influencers worldwide, providing peer perspective, IT leadership and business results. Emstream formalises relationship with Fujitsu

Emstream recently formalised its reseller relationship with Fujitsu Australia. We have been working hand-in-glove with Fujitsu on a number of national digital signage deployments and we are delighted to be able to proceed with our joint market development initiatives together.

The first of these was to share a stand at the recent Digital Signage World trade show at Sydney’s Exhibition Centre, where Emstream’s CEO Mark Schroeder was a key conference presenter where he launched Emstream’s white paper on planning for digital signage. If you’d like a free copy of the white paper “Measure Twice, Cut Once”, please contact us.

Background music industry players come together to counter music piracy and illegal use

Recently we attended a very constructive meeting co-ordinated and hosted by MIPI (Music Industry Piracy Investigations). This is the first time our industry has come together and we are confident that together we will be able to take a more proactive role to help commercial users of background music understand their obligations under the law. For our useful summary of such, please go to http://www.emstream.com.au/music_legal.php
